Nepal Hindu Pilgrimage Tour

  • Nepal is the land of mysticism. Nepal pilgrimage tour is one of the most popular tours in the country. This tour is designed to take the pilgrims to all the religious sites located around the country. The people from all across religious beliefs travel to Nepal to seek the blessings of their respective lords. In this spiritual land, you will find different monasteries, temples, stupas. You will be spiritually motivated while traveling to this land of mysticism. Our pilgrimage tour includes the places which are located outside and inside of Kathmandu valley. We design the tour itinerary for our clients as per their preferences.


Day Where Description
1 . Arrival at Kathmandu
Meal:- L/D

You will arrive at the airport of Kathmandu. Our driver will take you to the hotel. In the evening you can go to the local shops for shopping purpose. Stay overnight in the capital city.
2 . Kathmandu sightseeing
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance:- Kathmandu – Boudhanath Stupa: 7kms (20 minutes)
Boudhanath stupa – Pashupatinath temple:- 2.6 kms (30 minutes)
Pashupatinath temple – Hiranya Varna Mahavihar:- 8.2kms (40 minutes)
Hiranya Varna Mahavihar – Golden Temple Mahabouddha:- 2km (15 minutes)

After taking breakfast, you will be going for the local sightseeing. You will start your day with Boudhanath stupa and Pashupatinath temple. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas located in Nepal. This stupa is listed under the world’s heritage sites made by UNESCO. This stupa route was used earlier as the trade route to enter the Kathmandu valley. It stands as a symbol of peace. This pilgrimage site is quite famous among the Buddhist followers. The Licchavi kings built this monument in the 14th century after the demise of Lord Buddha. The followers offer their prayers in the stupa. The Nepalese calls this stupa Chorten Ghenpo that means the great stupa. The refugees from China migrated to Kathmandu and from that time onwards the place became an important site.
Pashupatinath temple: it is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites located on the banks of River Bagmati. It is believed to be 12 jyotirlingas all across India. In the temple, the head of Lord Shiva is placed. It is the soulful reasons for the Hindus to go to this place. The idol of the temple is the mukhalinga covered by the serpent. The linga has four faces that are looking at the four directions. If you are an ardent lover of art and architecture then you will be completely amazed by the wooden craft design of the temple wall.
After taking lunch, you will be driving to Patan Durbar Square. This place is located in the Lalitpur district of Nepal. It has the impacts of Newar architecture. You will find out squared shaped floor made of red bricks. The Malla kings built this area. You will be completely thrilled to look at these architectural structures.
You next halt will be Hiranya Varna Mahavihar. It is the golden colored monastery located in Patan district of Nepal. In this monastery, you can feed the rats. King Bhaskar Varman built this pagoda for the respect of Shakyamuni Buddha. In the monastery, you will find the beautiful golden image along with a prayer wheel.
Next, you will be going to Golden Temple Mahabouddha for its marvelous carvings on the wall. This monument was built in the 14th century with clay bricks. This temple was built under the influence of Shikhara style. You will find beautiful works on terracotta covering the image of Lord Buddha. This temple is built following the architecture of Mahabouddha temple located in Bodhgaya.
Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
3 . Kathmandu sightseeing
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance:- Kathmandu to Dakshinkali temple: 2km (10 minutes)
Dakshinkali to Pharphing:- 2.4km(15minutes)
Pharping to Khokana:- 12km (45 minutes)
Mode of Transport:- Bus coach

After taking breakfast, you will be going to Dakshinkali temple. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali. There is a ritual of sacrificing animals in the temple. There are pilgrims coming from different parts of the world sacrifice animals for the sake of fulfilling the wishes.
Then you will be visiting Pharping. This small town lies on the way to Dakshinkali temple. On the way, you will see a small pond, the habitat of nagas at Taudaha. You will enjoy the ethnic cultural practices of the people located in the villages.
Later you will be visiting the statue of Guru Rimpoche. This statue is located near the Pharping town, where Rinpoche achieved his Mahamudra state of salvation.
Then you will be going to Khokana, where you can enjoy the houses of Newari tribesmen. You will understand the cultural practices and tradition as well.
You will stay overnight at Kathmandu.
4 . Namobuddha and then Dhulikhel
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance: Kathmandu to Namobuddha:- 43km(1hr 50 minutes)
Namobuddha to Dhulikhel:- 13km (42 minutes)
Mode of Transport:- Bus coach

After taking breakfast, you will be going to Namobuddha. It is one of the most remarkable Buddhist pilgrimage sites located in the southern part of the Himalayas. The Tibetans call this monastery as Takamo Lu Jin that means, Tigress Body Generosity. This shrine narrates the story of the prince who surrendered his life to the tigress to make her cubs feed with his meat. The tourists also take a walk for few minutes uphill to view the murals of the prince along with the cubs and the tigress. You will also find Thrangu Tashi Yangtse monastery that was built in 1976.
After lunch, you will be trekking down to Panauti, a small town near Dhulikhel. It is one of the earliest towns located in Nepal. You will find many temples around the town that were dated back to the 15th century. You will be completely enchanted with the beautiful landscapes, snow-clad mountain views. You can hike around Dhulikhel to capture beautiful panoramic views of Himalayan ranges. You will stay overnight at Dhulikhel.
5 . Drive to Kathmandu
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance:- Dhulikhel to Kathmandu: 30km (1hr 20 minutes)
Mode of Transport:- Bus coach

After taking breakfast, you can spend a few more hours roaming around the beautiful valley of Dhulikhel and then get ready for driving back to Kathmandu. At night you will stay in the hotel in Kathmandu.
6 . Lumbini
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance:- Kathmandu to Lumbini: 6km(30minutes)
Mode of Transport:- Bus coach
After taking breakfast, you will be getting yourself ready for Lumbini. It comes under the list of World’s Heritage sites made by UNESCO. Lumbini is quite famous among the Buddhist pilgrims. According to the Jataka stories, in 563 BCE Queen Mahamayadevi gave birth to the beautiful prince Gautama Buddha. You will find different kinds of temples within the Lumbini gardens. Mostly the Buddhist organizations provide funds for these monasteries. You will find the sacred pond of Puskarini, where Mayadevi took a sacred bath before giving birth to Lord Buddha. You will also find the temple dedicated to Queen Mahamayadevi. You will also get the view of Sanctum-Sanctorum, the famous birthplace of Lord Buddha. This place came into existence after rounds of excavation.
7 . Lumbini sightseeing

Today you will be visiting other encircling places around Lumbini. Ashoka and Buddhism shared a very closely knitted bond. The great king Ashoka took Buddhism after the Kalinga war to preach the teachings of Buddha all across the world. Ashoka Pillar is the place where you will encounter the paths of Dharma. If you love architecture, then you will be completely amused by the inscriptions of the Ashokan pillars. It is one of the earliest pillars located there.
You will be visiting Kapilavastu, the famous ancient capital city of Shakya. Lord Buddha was believed to take birth to King Suddhodhana and Mayadebi in this city. So the pilgrims go to this ancient city to view the ruins of the past. The pilgrims go to another holy site called Niglihawa, where Kanakamuni Buddha was believed to be born. King Ashoka erected an inscribed stone pillar in 249 BC. The historians love this site due to its enriched artifacts. In Lumbini, Sarus Crane is the official bird. So while traveling to there you will find out bird Conservation Park as well. You will stay overnight at Lumbini.
8 . Drive to Pokhara

Distance:- Lumbini to Pokhara: 200km(6hours)

After taking breakfast, you will be driving to Pokhara. There are a lot of temples and stupas located in the city.
Temple of Tal Barahi is devoted to Devi Durga. This temple is located on a small island situated on Lake Phewa. After this, you can visit the pagoda-styled monument, Pokhara Shanti Stupa located on the top of Ananda Hill. You will have to trek to reach the top of the hill to get a spectacular view of the city all around you. After reaching the top of the stupa you will get a panoramic view of Phewa Lake and the huge mountains surrounding the lake.
Barahi temple is also another beautiful temple located on Phewa Lake. You will get to see the beautiful Bindhyabasini temple as well. Goddess Bhagwati is worshipped in this temple. In Western Nepal, this temple is considered as one of the Shaktipiths.
9 . Pokhara sight seeing

After taking breakfast you will be going to visit some other historical monuments located around Pokhara. Firstly you will be visiting Davi’s falls located in the Kaski district near Pokhara. The waterfalls into the deep gorges and you will be completely amazed by the beauty of the fall. In the year 1961, Davi, wife of a Swiss couple drowned in the waterfalls. After the wish of the father of the deceased, the name of the fall is Davi’s falls but the local people call it Patale Chango. The word in Nepalese means underworld waterfall. This water passes through the beautiful tunnel of Gupteshwar Mahadev, The water comes from the Phewa Lake.
After the fall you can go for Gupteshwar Mahadev cave. It is the most famous location for the tourist. The largest shrine located inside the cave is devoted to Lord Shiva. There are many tourists who trek to the cave by taking the World Peace Stupa trek.
At last, you will visit the Mahendra cave located near the Seti River. It is believed to the largest cave made out of limestone. It is the only cave where you will find stalactites and stalagmites. Even this cave is devoted to Lord Shiva. The cave was named after Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. If you are adventure junkies, then you will be thrilled to trek across these caves. At night you will stay at Pokhara.
10 . Fly to Kathmandu
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance:- Pokhara to Kathmandu: 204km (6hours)/ by flight: 25 minutes
Mode of Transport:- Bus coach

After breakfast, you will come back to Kathmandu. You can take either flight or by bus to reach Kathmandu. If you are traveling by flight, then after reaching the capital city, you can spend your day shopping as well.
11 . Kathmandu sightseeing
Meal:- B/L/D
Distance:- Kathmandu to Bhaktapur: 16km (45minutes)
Bhaktapur to Swayambhunath stupa:- 19km (50minutes)
Swayambhunath stupa to Kathmandu:- 25 minutes(6km)

After taking breakfast, you will be driving to visit the ancient town of Bhaktapur. This city was under the empire of Malla kingdom till the 15th century. It comes under the world heritage site as listed by UNESCO. If you are an ardent lover of arts and architecture, you will be completely amazed by the beauty of this ancient city. You will find magnificent artworks in metal, stone, and wood.
Later you will be going to visit Swayambhunath stupa. This marvelous stupa back from the ancient time will make you feel complete in this mystic land of Nepal. This stupa is located on the top of the hillock and it is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage sites for the Buddhist followers. This stupa was constructed during the Licchavi period. The giant eyes of Lord Buddha are the most enticing site in the entire complex of the stupa. You can get an overview of the Kathmandu valley from the top of the hillock.
12 . Departure

After taking breakfast you can either indulge in shopping or as per your time schedule you will be dropped back to the airport for the homebound flight.
