Located at an elevation of 5230m, this emerald green colored Kagbhusandi Lake near Kankul Pass will be an amazing experience completely. This beautiful lake is located in the lap of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand district. Located in the lap of Hathi Parvat, this lake will be a visual delight for the trekkers. The wide palette of color around the lake and the blooming of different shades will be a distinct experience. If you are traveling during summers or autumn, you will find out the wide blooming of flowers around the banks of the lake. For its natural diversity, UN notifies this place as one of the world heritage sites. Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve takes the responsibility of maintaining the lake. The trekkers can reach this heavenly destination from two different routes. One can either approach it from Govind Ghat or through Bhyundar Village. Mostly the trekkers avoid the Bhyundar village route due to its slippery rock stones, boulders, and bear-infested woods. Day 1:Drive to Govindghat via Joshimath from Rishikesh

After reaching Rishikesh, our driver will pick you up from the station to travel further. You will be driving to Joshimath, a small city located in the Himalayan foothills in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. In medieval India, Adi Shankara made this site as one of the cardinal religious destinations. Mostly the pilgrims halt in this particular location on the way to Badrinath shrine. Till 11th century, the Katyuri kings ruled this area extending Katyur as the capital city of the region. Vashudev Katyuri founded this dynasty. This 1875m high Joshimath village will delight you visually. You will be driving towards Govindghat. This small town is located at the confluence of two rivers Lakshman Ganga and Alaknanda. Located at an altitude of 1800m, this place is around 22kms away from Joshimath. The Hindus access this route way on their way to Valley of flowers and Hemkund Sahib. On your way to Govindghat, you will enjoy the flow of Ganga alongside the mountains.

Day 2:Trek to Bhyundar village to Roopdhungi via Joshimath

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will get ready for the next stretch of your journey. Bhyundar Village is located in the laps of Garhwali Mountains around 32kms away from Joshimath. This famous place is surrounded by Ukhimath, Pokhari, Ghat Tehsil and Gopeshwar on all sides. From Bhyundar village the road bifurcates in two directions. The left road turns towards the famous trekking of Valley of Flowers and the right road leads to Kaag Bhushandi. On your way to the lake, you will find out amazing meadows en route. The first hour of the trek will be difficult due to its steep inclined plane gradually it will be easier. On the way, you will pass through glaciers, rivers, small shrubs, and rocky areas. The rhythmic flow of the Alaknanda River and its sounds will take you forward to your journey. This trail is quite infamous among the trekkers for its bear-infested forests. On your way, you will first catch the beautiful glimpse of Hathi Parvat on your way to Roopdhungi. You will stay overnight at Roopdhungi.

Day 3:Trek to Simartoli to Rajkharak from Roopdhungi

Distance: 14 km (8hrs)

After taking delicious breakfast you will be traveling towards Simartoli and then trek towards Raj Kharak. If you love to explore the beauty of nature, then you will be completely amazed at the soothing beauty of these villages. The complete blooming of the flowers and the snow Cladded Mountains will make your journey across the trail beautiful. On your way, you will be crossing different villages like Bankbara, Kargil, Dang Khark and Simartoli. On your way, you will catch the glimpse of the beautiful river called Karnkul Ganga originating from the glacier located near Raj Khark. The local villagers use the meadow land for grazing purpose. Stay overnight in a camp built up at Raj Khark.

Day 4:Trek to Kagbhushandi from Rajkharak

Altitude: Kaagbhushandi-4730m, Kankul Pass-4960m
Distance: 8 km (5hrs)

Today you will be heading towards Kagbhushandi. Post breakfast you will be traveling towards the lake. The path to the lake empowers with the beautiful meadows, valleys. On the way, you will climb up huge boulders. The mountainous terrains have been a complete pleasure for the trekkers to explore the natural beauty. This trekking trail will also surprise with its amazing views of mountain peaks like Ghodi Parvat, Nar-Narayan, Neelkanth, and Chaukhamba. The Himalayan mountain terrains have always been amazing for the bio-diversified nature. While trekking to Kagbhushandi you will find out flowers of different families. You will also get to notice the rarest forms of flowers. Stepping on to this place makes you feel that it is heaven. Surrounded by mountains and the wide sprawling of wild color palates through the blooming of flowers and the aquamarine water of the lake will amaze you with natural beauty. The scenic beauty will be a splendid experience.

Day 5:Trek to Gounchha Udiyar from Kagbhushandi

Today after taking breakfast you will be traveling to Gounchha Udiyar. This route will offer you delightful scenic beauty. The wide panoramic views of the mountains, alpine forests, gushing water of wild mountain rivers and green meadows will offer you to click the best photographs of nature. The calm and serenity of nature will make you feel amazed. After reaching Gouchha Udiyar, you will be strolling across the meadows to interact with the nomads. Without taking a stroll across the meadows you will not understand the peaceful nomadic culture of these people. At night you will stay in Gounchha Udiyar.

Day 6:Trek to Painka to Govindghat from Gounchha Udiyar

Distance: 10 km (5-6hrs) and then drive back 7km

Today you have reached the last stretch of your trekking. Get your trekking gear ready for enjoying every moment of your last stretch. You will be traveling towards Painka village. You will be heading towards Govindghat via this small village located in Garhwal Himalayas. You will be trekking across the deep rocky forests and the narrow paths. On your way, you will be amazed by the splendor of nature. The beautiful spring coming out of Barmal Peak will be an addition to your itinerary. The surprising beauty of the surrounding amazing will definitely allure you to travel back this place again and again. Your trekking will come to an end in Govindghat. At night you will stay there.
