Early in the morning today you will be driving to Pokhara from the capital city of Kathmandu. Pokhara is the second populous city in Nepal. This city is the gateway for the trekkers to enter the Annapurna circuit. It is also known as the tourism capital of the country. For the adventure seekers, it is the paradise to explore. One can indulge in any adventure sports in the laps of the Himalayas. On your way to Pokhara, you will be visiting Manakamana temple. In this itinerary, we aim to provide you a spiritual tour. We want you to explore the deepest truth of spirituality through these divine powers.
Manakamana temple is located on the Gorkha district of Nepal. This temple is known as the sacred region for the Hindus. A divine manifestation of Devi Parvati called Bhagwati is worshipped in this sanctified temple. Built in the 17th century, this temple is believed to fulfill every wish of the devotee. The pilgrims appear in front of the goddess in the mere hope of fulfilling the desires. There is no direct way to the temple. This pagoda styled four stories temple is quite an amazing architecture to relish. The pilgrims have to board the cable car to visit the temple.

Today you will be flying to Jomsom very early in the morning. From the airport, you will have to walk for 2minutes. This small village is located on the Himalayan laps. The tourists can access limited resources for its remote location. In this itinerary, Muktinath is added to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for making the pilgrimage tour remarkable for the pilgrims. For Muktinath visit, you will be dropped near the village called Rani Pauwa. From Jomsom, you will have to drive for 2 hrs to reach this village.
Ranipauwa is located in Mustang district at an altitude of 3700m. This place is quite famous among the Buddhists and Hindu pilgrims. Other than pilgrims, the trekkers for Annapurna Circuit also access this particular route. Before crossing one of the highest pass, Thorong La Pass, Ranipauwa is the last accessible marketplace. After reaching this village, you will have to walk over the suspended bridge on Kali Gandaki River for 15-20minutes. Then you will enter the field of liberation ie. Mukti Kshetra. In both Hinduism and Buddhism, the idea of moksha is quite well celebrated. The pilgrims believe that by stepping into such religious place one can access the beauty of spirituality. Today you will be traveling back to Pokhara. Today if you can recess time then you can explore the mystic landscape of Pokhara. Firstly you can visit Bindebashini temple. Venerated back in the 17th century, this temple is devoted to the war goddess Devi Durga, an incarnation of Parvati. In the inner sanctum of the temple, one will find saligram stone for worshipping purpose. Later you can go for Davis fall. The cascading water of the falls is one of the most visited tourist spots in Pokhara. In Nepali, this fall is called Patale Chango meaning the waterfall from the underworld. On the other side of the waterfall, there is a natural cave called Gupteshwar Cave. You will be amazed at the natural deposit of limestone all across the walls of the caves. Your sightseeing across Pokhara will be an amazing experience.
Post lunch you will be driving back to Kathmandu.

Today you will be going for sightseeing of the heritage sites located around the capital city. After breakfast, you will start with Pashupatinath temple visit. This temple is of religious significance as Lord Shiva is worshipped here wholeheartedly by the millions of pilgrims coming all across the world. The 5th-century temple dated back in Licchavi period will amaze you with its brilliant architectural works. Located on the banks of river Bagmati, the Hindus visit this holy shrine to seek the blessings of the lord. In Nepal, Pashupatinath is considered as the national deity. This temple is also one of the world’s heritage sites as listed by UNESCO.
Later you will be traveling to Budhanilkantha. This temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu. In the inner sanctum of the temple, the tourists will find out the soothing statue of the lying Vishnu on the bed made out of cosmic serpent, Seshnag. The statue was made back in the Licchavi period. This holy shrine is located on Shivpuri. It is said to be the largest statue of Vishnu made out of stone in Nepal.
Later you will be taking a flight back to Nepalgunj. This small city is located in the Banke district. In the landscape of Nepalgunj, you will find residents speaking native Pahari language. At night you will be staying in Nepalgunj.

The very next morning, you will be boarding an early morning flight to Simikot. You will board the flight around 5 am in the morning. Mostly this flight is devised to take the very early morning for its weather issues. If you take the flight in the latter half of the day then fog can cause trouble to get beautiful sight of the surrounding peaks. This flight to Simikot flies across the mountain peaks, river gorges, and the green plains. It will be an amazing experience flying between the mountains and the green plains downwards.
Simikot is a small town located in the Karnali region of Humla district. It is located on the northwestern part of Nepal. The airport at Simikot has a shorter runway located at an elevation of 3000m. It has got STOL types of the airport. Therefore while packing your stuff for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra one has to think of other consequences as well. Mostly the tourists are transferred by Twin Otter or Dornier type having the capacity for carrying a minimum of 16 passengers at a time.
Next, you will be flying to Hilsa. It is a short flight of 25 minutes. As compared to the earlier flight, here you will be flying above the deep gorges over Karnali River. Both these flights are advised to take early in the morning for the clear sky. In the afternoon, the weather deteriorates for wind direction. Mostly the passengers are transferred by Euro Copter. It is reasonable not to carry unnecessary stuff for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, as one has to carry his or her own luggage. Hilsa is a small town located in the Tibetan Autonomous Region. From there you will be driving to Taklakot (Purang). You will be completing your immigration formalities here. It is advisable to cross the border as a group. It will make a hassle-free checking process. From there it will take around an hour to reach Taklakot from Hilsa. At night you will be staying in the guesthouse located at Purang.
This day is quite important for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for making the tourists quite fit both mentally and physically. It is a strenuous journey that requires a complete dedication for accomplishing the tour. It is the journey that challenges the body and the mind of the pilgrims continuously. Under certain extremities, the pilgrims lose hope to complete the circumambulation around the mountains. This day is featured in the tour itinerary for making the tourists adaptable with the extreme physical and weather conditions.
Taklakot(Purang) is located in the amazing landscape of Ngari Prefecture of Tibetan Autonomous Region in China. Located at a higher elevation of 4755m, this beautiful region is developed on the Sarayu Karnali River. Earlier this route was used only for the trading purpose. As per mythical texts this place is believed to be the birthplace of Sudhana, an incarnation of Lord Buddha. As it is an acclimatization day, therefore you can spend your day roaming around the local places. You can visit high above the cliff to visit the Tegla Kar fort. Another ethnic-religious group known as Bon makes a wide settlement in this region. They built a spectacular nine storied monastery called Tsegu Gompa just below the fort. Taklakot is the last accessible point for the tourists traveling to Kailash Mansarovar to buy necessary things before proceeding furthers. At night you will stay in Taklakot.

Mostly the pilgrims aim to take bath on the holy water on the full moon to wash away the sins of past and present lives. According to the Hindu scriptures, if anyone circumambulates around the lake for 108times, one can attain Nirvana. The other reason to choose full moon night for Lake Mansarovar is its natural beauty. Very few catch the glimpse of such shining beauty of nature on the full moon day. The serenity of the ambiance will make you feel the presence of celestial beings around you. You will be completing the circumambulation around the lake on a car.
At night you will be staying in the guest house located near Chui Gompa monastery.

Yamdwar to Diraphuk (8kms trek)
Early in the morning, you will be taking a holy dip in the water of Lake Mansarovar. As per the auspicious time, the spiritual thinkers believe from 3 am till 5 am it is the Brahman Muhurta as the heavenly bodies descend down to the earth to take bath in the holy water of Lake Mansarovar. Our representatives will arrange a shower tent for you near the shore of the lake. Taking bath on this holy water it is said to attain Nirvana. After the holy bath, the pilgrims perform rituals on the shore of the lake praying for the heavenly journey of the deceased souls of the ancestors. After performing all these rituals, our driver will take you to Darchen. The total distance of the trek is 38kms and one needs a minimum of 3 days to complete the trek. Your trek will start from Yamdwar onwards.
Yamdwar is considered as the gateway of a mortal world and heaven. It is the gateway devoted to Lord of death, Yama. It is said before entering the holy shrine of Mt. Kailash one needs to seek blessings from Yama. While the Tibetans call it Tarboche from where one starts the circumambulation around the heavenly abode of Lord Shiva. On your way to Dhiraphuk from Yamdwar, you will find out exotic natural beauty. It will take around 5-6 hours to reach Dhiraphuk covering a distance of 8km.
At night you will stay in the guest house in Dhiraphuk.
**Circumambulation is optional. Age and health are the constant constraints for parikrama across Mt. Kailash. Few complete it either by walking or on a pony. Those who prefer not to complete the parikrama can come back to Darchen after the darshan at Yamdwar. Those who will be staying back in Darchen can witness amazing views of Mt. Kailash with the changing shades of sun rays. They can actually visualize the beauty of mountains closely.
Distance: 22 kms from Diraphuk to Zuthulphuk
Mode of transport: Trekking (8-10 hours)
Today is the most strenuous segment of the trek. Today you will be covering around 22kms from Dhiraphuk to Zuthulphuk. You will be crossing the optimum height of 5636m at Dolma La Pass. It is the highest point of the trek. From there onwards you will be descending down towards the plain land. As compared to the previous day, today you will be walking across the deep-layered snow. The sharpness of the snow and the stones are really scary for the pilgrims. One needs proper guidance from the sherpas for the trekking. It is a pilgrimage tour where one aims to reestablish the faith towards the lord. Due to extreme physical and climatic difficulties, one may lose inner faith. The complete dedication to seeking the blessings of the Almighty one aims to complete the circumambulation. At night you will stay in Zuthulphuk.
*Optional: As many people are staying back in Darchen due to health or age issues, they can enjoy the beauty of surrounding Mt. Kailash from there. Else they can go for a one-day excursion either to Astapadh or Saptarishi Caves. For this excursion, one has to hire a private vehicle from the local stands. The vehicle will drop you at a nearby location and from there you will be walking to your destination.
Distance: Zuthulphuk to Yamdwar 10 kms
Mode of transport: Trekking (3-4 hours)
Today you will be completing your circumambulation across Mt. Kailash. Today you will be trekking towards Darchen from Zuthulphuk covering an average distance of 8-10kms. Due to physical exhaustion, you will feel tired but the constant devotional faith towards the Lord will keep the inner faith boost up to complete the circumambulation. The trek takes its completeness only after completing the journey across the mountains. Our driver will be waiting for you on the other side of the trekking trail. From there you will be driving back to Taklakot.
*Optional: If any of your family members are completing circumambulation and other is staying back in Darchen, then you will meet your family directly in Darchen. From there you will be taking a drive to Taklakot.
Altitude: Hilsa (3640m)
Mode of transport: Flight
Early in the morning, you will be crossing the border near Taklakot as a whole. After completing the immigration formalities you will be driving back to Hilsa. From there you will be a boarding flight to Simikot. From Simikot again you will have to take a flight to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj. At night you will stay in Kathmandu.
